doorway

if giving birth is a
rite of passage, it is that way for both parties involved,
the mother and the child.

it's strange to think that doorways are
a manmade construction.
in nature,
doorways don't exist.
there are tunnels or caves or passageways,
but not doorways.

doorways aren't great metaphors.
they're just manmade obstacles.
(aren't all obstacles manmade?)
